Gender and Blue Justice in small-scale fisheries governance

This paper examines the need to embed gender in an empirical examination or conceptual use of Blue Justice. In developing Justice concept, there is a avoid reproducing ongoing and historical omissions issues small-scale fisheries governance research. By drawing on concepts procedural distributive justice, this explores how equity equality concerns interrelate, inform shape each other governance. These are explored through analysis four cases: Zanzibar (Tanzania), Chile, France United Kingdom (UK). We find that gendered power inequities women’s marginalised participation associated with injustices. further outcomes argue any effort integrate into has address way relations particular fishery – extending focus beyond sea including not always included traditional arrangements revolving around fish resource management.
